How do I start using Copilot with my MathWorks products?

Prerequisites

• MATLAB R2025a or newer (desktop version).
• A valid MATLAB Copilot license linked to your MathWorks Account.
• Internet connection (required for AI features).

Step-by-Step Setup

1. Open MATLAB (R2025a or later).
2. Sign in to your MathWorks Account:
   • Click the Sign In button in the top-right corner of the MATLAB desktop.
   • Log in with your MathWorks credentials.
3. Once signed in with a valid Copilot license, features activate automatically — no separate installation or toolbox download is needed.

How to Use It

• Copilot Chat: Open the chat panel (usually on the right) to ask questions, generate code, explain code, debug errors, or get suggestions.
• In the Editor:
  • Use autocomplete as you type.
  • Right-click selected code → Copilot options (explain, generate, add comments, etc.).
  • Shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + P to ask Copilot at cursor.
• Generate, refine, run, and iterate on code directly in MATLAB.
• For Simulink or other products, similar integration applies once licensed and signed in.
