Why isn't my Point Grey (FLIR) Firefly MV (FFMV or FMVU) not detected in lastest support package version of MATLAB R2016-R2017a?   I have Point Grey camera models Firefly MV (FFMV or FMVU), and my camera is not detected by imaqhwinfo or imaqtool even though I have the latest version of the Image Acquisition Toolbox Support Package for Point Grey Hardware  installed.   I see the same behavior with   - MATLAB R2016a (Point Grey support package version 16.1.2)   - MATLAB R2016b (Point Grey support package version 16.2.1)   - MATLAB R2017a (Point Grey support package version 17.1.1)   Other Point Grey camera models are detected, but why aren't Firefly MV (FFMV or FMVU) cameras detected?

The Point Grey FlyCapture library (version 2.11.3.121), which the support package downloads, does not correctly detect Firefly MV (FFMV or FMVU) cameras with certain serial numbers.
 
As a workaround you can contact Point Grey (FLIR) to get a more recent FlyCapture library version(FlyCap2 Viewer 2.11 Release 164), which is compatible with the Firefly MV camera models.
 
To install the updated version follow these steps:
 
1. If not already installed, search for and install the Image Acquisition Toolbox Support Package for Point Grey Hardware using the MATLAB Add-on Explorer.
 
2. Open Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a program, and uninstall "FlyCap2 Viewer 2.11 Release 121 (x64)"
 
3. Install "FlyCap2Viewer_2.11.3.164_x64.msi"
 
4. Reboot your computer.
